Tethys

For the delicate nature of lace with the durability of steel, I created this beautiful collar.
 
I start by subjecting stainless steel links to temperatures ranging from 400-630�F, then painstakingly connect the links together in a pattern inspired by crocheted lace collars. The result is a lace collar that is as strong as steel and shimmers with colors ranging from pale golds to deep purples and blues.
 
The variation of the colors and the frills of the lace reminded me of Tethys, the Greek Titaness who was the mother to the river gods and the nymphs of springs, streams, and fountains. This crocheted-style lace collar measures 21 inches.
