Tabby Earrings
These little earrings are named, in a sideways and meandering way, after a poem by Gerard Manley Hopkins- Pied Beauty- where he celebrates the loveliness of spotted, striped, changeable natural beauty.
And these earrings are striped in the dark greyish-black of gunmetal, white of silver, and shine of gold, and that made me think of the intricate stripes on a tabby cat.
The earrings are handmade in stainless steel loops with gunmetal and silver or gunmetal and gold.
Extremely fanciful, but, to quote "All things counter, original, spare, strange;
Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;
He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change:".
