Diamond Fidget Keychain

This diamond of semiprecious gemstones and 6mm stainless steel links combines being a practical accessory for a busy life with being a sensory and aesthetic delight. The smooth stones rotate on steel pins while the links glide over your fingers. Linked like samurai armor, this versatile piece makes a great lasting birthday or anniversary gift.

My work on my other fidget items led me to think about other ways to work sensory input seamlessly into daily life. As someone who links steel for a living, I know the importance of good tools—they need to not just look good; they need to feel good, and last a really long time. I wanted to build something that would appeal to both people’s sense of beauty and practicality. I created this chainmail pattern myself, and I’m quite pleased with the result.
