The Rilla of Ingleside

This necklace is loosely based on designs popular from 1905-1914, and it's for the heroine of Rilla of Ingleside, Bertha Marilla Blythe. If you're not familiar with the book, it's the last in the Anne of Green Gables series, about her youngest daughter, and set during the four years of what they called The Great War. In it, Rilla grows from a beautiful but somewhat lazy and frivolous girl into a strong and patient woman, against the background of the greatest conflict the world had seen. 
It's one of my favourite books, and Rilla- spunky, lively, romantic Rilla- is a delight. And to her this design is dedicated. It measures 20in and closes with a lobster clasp.
